Clean Air Institute & CAI-LAC
BTI is founder, fiscal agent and strategic partner of the Clean Air Institute, an independent, private, nonprofit organization formed in 2006 to improve air quality and urban life for all citizens. The Clean Air Institute currently focuses upon Latin America through its Clean Air Initiative for Latin American Cities (CAI-LAC). This program is a partnership among the largest cities in Latin America.
The Clean Air Institute helps communities develop and implement cost-effective strategies to reduce greenhouse gases, improve air quality, provide affordable public transit and cope with rapid urbanization. The Institute facilitates technology demonstration and encourages partnerships, prepares benchmark assessments, conducts awareness activities, encourages networking and exchange and offers knowledge management and technical services. The Institute's CAI-LAC program is unique; no other entity plays a regional coordinating and networking role in Latin America.

TopSustainable Energy / Fuel Cells 2000
BTI launched Fuel Cells 2000 in 1993 as its inaugural project. The mission of Fuel Cells 2000 is to promote the commercialization of fuel cells and hydrogen, which we accomplish by being the leading independent source of fuel cell information available anywhere. Why fuel cells? In short, because fuel cells offer the best long-term solution for our environment and energy challenges. Fuel cells can even offer carbon-free energy, when hydrogen is produced renewably.
The critical factors that make Fuel Cells 2000 unique are cost, content and quality. The vast majority of information on our website is available without charge, with minor exceptions. No other site has more original content, fresher links, or more frequently visited discussion forums.
Fuel Cells 2000 provides source material for numerous other web sites and helps researchers to assess technical and commercial capabilities, suppliers to identify sales prospects, teachers to develop experiments and lesson plans, students to identify college and university offerings, graduates to find jobs, investors to identify opportunities, and purchasers to find suppliers.
Some of the resources available on www.fuelcells.org include:

Fuel Cells 2000 conducts outreach to a wide variety of audiences via participation in conferences, via speeches and presentations to professional, governmental, policy and school groups, and via the media. We also answer every inquiry we receive. Our free monthly newsletter has 12,000 subscribers, and our site serves more than 550,000 unique visitors annually.
BTI is also a member of the US Fuel Cell Council (USFCC), the member-driven trade association of the fuel cell industry. To learn more about the USFCC, please visit: www.usfcc.com
TopSustainable Transport / Bus Rapid Transit Policy Center
The world is rapidly urbanizing and faces a fundamental challenge: providing mobility for people and goods without overwhelming costs to the environment, economy and quality of life. Our sustainable transportation program promotes policies, technologies and strategies that foster sustainable mobility.
One focus is bus rapid transit (BRT), a technology that can exceed the performance of traditional rail transit systems at a fraction of the cost. BTI launched the Bus Rapid Transit Policy Center in 2002 as a program to help communities make informed decisions on transportation choices. We provide independent analysis and encourage communities to evaluate all transit options on a level playing field.
Please visit our internationally recognized website, www.gobrt.org, for numerous resources that include:
- Transport Innovator, a free newsletter received by 5,000 policymakers and transit professionals worldwide
- Peer-reviewed papers, case studies, objective reports and independent analysis
- Frequently-updated searchable database of BRT corridors and planned sites worldwide
- Details on workshops and information sessions we have hosted to educate the industry, the public, and the media about sustainable options such as BRT.
